I've got some literature that is telling me two different gold interior paint colors were used for different parts of my '69 GTO. Antique Gold for the the deluxe steering wheel, hub, column jacket and Yuma gold for the floor console and windshield pillars.
It really doesn't look like there are two different golds in my interior. Does anyone have any experience with these gold interiors?

Marauder, my Antique Gold interior was just that, no different gold color anywhere. It is now Parchment.

Yeah, I was kicking around changing it to parchment as well but thought the gold would look fine with a dark green metallic car.
What color is your car?

Marauder, my convertible was originally Antique Gold outside and inside with a Ivory convertible top. It is now black, parchment interior, ivory top. The car is #'s matching, but I couldn't stand the color..so I guess it ain't no more!

Off topic, but still relevant. I have an interior that is a goldish avocado color. Is this a type of "gold" or a type of green The car is dark verdoro green. It reminds me of the citron interior color used on 66 Pymouths. I have seen pics of cars on eBay that have similar color seats, but they have called them "gold". What gives?

Teacher, have you heard of The Ultimate GTO Picture Site ?
Look at paint codes and click on "Options". They have all the data on that site as far as colors, options etc. and lots of eye candy for a GTO lover.

My goat originally came with Champagne (63) in and out. The orig. interior pieces the I have removed kinda have that puke goldish/green tint that time has so graciously given them.

Mine was originally Espresso Brown with a white top and gold interior. The top is now black, the outside is white and the interior is still gold. I don't have any plans of painting it brown again so it probably doesn't matter too much if I change the interior to parchment even though the numbers match.
I doing the dash now and will probably tell them to make it black.

Here's a pic of my 69 gold interior.. it's still the orginal seats and all. Now maybe convertibles were different, but I would think it'd be the same.

Yep, that looks sorta like mine but yours is in better shape and my seatcovers are darker.
I see the headrests for a '69 are only available in black. Does anyone know if it is difficult to make them parchment and keep them that color?

Having seen the GTO site, I stand corrected, my car is midnight green. However, the interior option pics did no help. Their green is much greener and their gold is much golder. I have the "puke greenish gold color" that was mentioned. It looks more like the "gold" pictured in WillV's post.

Marauder, I painted my antique gold headrests to match the parchment interior I got from PUI (through PY). I took one of the new rear door panels down to my paint guy. He mixed up some Sem's vinyl dye to shoot out of my paint gun and also gave me some gold pearl mixed in some clear to shoot over that. It came out pretty close. I can try and post a picture later if you'd like. I think there has been some discussion on this before, but I think the PUI 1969 parchment is more like the pearl from 1968. It really has gold pearl in it whereas I didn't think the original parchment did. If mine were originally parchment I might have put up more stink about it, but I do like the look of it. Jeff

Oh, and I also used SEM's black to cover the Antique Gold on the dash, inner pillar moldings, top of the windshield vinyl, console and kick panels as those items were black when combined with parchment interior.

Here's a pic of my '69 code 252 (Gold) interior.
Kind of a close picture, but I wasn't thinking about the whole interior at the time. Note the incorrect paint on the console and 8-Track.

Thanks for the pic. Hmmmm, my interior looks a lot more gold where your interior looked almost tan. Any chance you could post or email me some more pics of the car. I understand that mine was originally Espresso Brown as well but with a white top. I read that it is a rare color and would be interested in seeing what it looks like.
Thanks, Curt Lawnicki lawnicki@tampabay.rr.com

Mine looks none too pleasant right now, but I do have a picture of one that looks good - now that I've fixed the stripe color to the right one!

This is the one that I changed.
Yeah, the green is too vivid, but I did it for me as an inspiration piece.

I guess it did at one time although a ragtop. When I bought the car it was white. It looks good but I'm thinking of a color change in the future although I'm not sure what I like best.
