I need some good advise again folks. The motor I am building is going to be a long rod 428. I need a good recommendation for my piston choice. The motor will be used in a car intended for a street/strip combo seeing about 10 trips to the track per year and between 5K and 10K miles per year. The two choices I hear the most about are JE and Ross. Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that either JE or Ross will suit you just fine. You're going to have to get custom pistons made anyway to compensate for the longer rod, so go with the best that is available. For what it's worth, I have JE's in my stock rod 462 and I'm very pleased with them.

I talked to Steve C. and he said that JBP sells a long rod kit, 6.8 BBC rods, Ross custom pistons, and pins. Try contacting Butler
