My 67 GTO 4 speed trans. crossmember is bolted to the boxed frame on pads that are welded to the frame. There are no insulators
between the crossmember and the frame mounts. Is this crossmember mounting "correct"? Should there be some type of vibration insulator between the two components. jim ------------------ |

At the end of the crossmember , there shoud be a rubber insulator that slides over the end of the crossmember which in turns fits into the boxed mount on your frame . That boxed mount should be bolted to the frame with 2 bolts not welded . BTW Performance Years sells those rubber insulators you need .

Correct. Also, if your brackets were welded, you may need new brackets also.
Or you could just leave it the way it is but not recommended on a daily driven street car. PY part numbers. PYU301 Insulators $15/pr. PYU300 Brackets $17/pr. http://performanceyears.com/ponor4.htm
