I'm replacing my '70 gto parking brake cables. the cable that attaches to pedal itself, then routes thru the firewall, and hooks to the cable that runs to the rear wheels, seems to be very difficult to install. you must snake it up from below, between the firewall and inner fender well, thru a hole, finnally attaching it to the pedal. this seems impossible to do without having the inner fender well removed. what's the trick? any suggestions?

Try removing the park brake pedal assembly from the car before snaking the cable through. After the cable is in, re-install the park brake pedal assembly.
