I was just wandering if any of you have ever heard of, or dealt with the Engine Factory- www.enginefactory.com Furthermore, has anyone here ever had any engine work completed by these guys or know anyone who has? Their prices don't seem too outrageous for the HP ratings they claim.
Any replies are welcome (+/-). Looking for someone in the area to rebuild my 1978 Pontiac 400 and they are fairly close.

Thanks in advance,
dyingbreed.

i've never heard of them, but when you look at the cam spec's they show. they are the same as the one's in the summit or paw catalogs house brand. the price is right in line with the price of the car craft engine build-up a while bacd. the difference in horsepower and torque may be due to camshaft selection. interesting to keep in mind though. gotta go, chow time!

Do yourself a favor and get an engine built by somebody that builds Pontiacs for a living. You won't be sorry.

You live in PA, then Paul Spotts is close to you. Paul is very busy at this time building pontiac engines. Give Paul a call he can build you a real good one. http://www.spottsperformance.com

Rob,
I've already considered Paul Spotts and have even emailed him. Mr Spotts seems like a very nice person and people on this board speak very highly of him. He replied to my email and answered all my stupid questions. Spotts Performance is actually my first choice . I am just looking for some other alternatives and the Engine Factory caught my eye while surfing the web.

Not to take anything away from Paul Spotts, he's a great guy, but you may want to try Larry at Hansen racing. He has built nothing but Pontiacs for the last 25 years. He is in Middlesex, NJ. You may not have heard of him, he doesn't advertise much. I have been dealing with him for 6 years now. He built my 9 sec motor.

If you're located in Pa and anywhere close to the Hatfield area I'd strongly recommend Paul Spotts...he did some work for me in the past and is a straight shooter. Nothing worse then spending a few grand and not getting what you wanted! Deal with people you dont know and God only knows what you're getting! Picture your prized ride sitting on the side of the road because some knucklehead scr*wed ya over.....not very pretty!

Although I have not had any work done by Paul I have been around long enough to see what others think of him as a business man and as a Pontiac engine builder. You can't go wrong. He's good people.

I've known of Paul Spotts since 1980, and Paul still has a high attention to detail. That trait is key to successful engine builds.

I agree with some of the others. Paul's work is top quality, you won't be sorry with Paul. Another builder in your area is Rex Racing. Scott Rex is also a top quality builder and is close to you.
