i have a 65 389 catalina does anyone know can i switch to a later year cover and waterpump and if so will a 70 work is the fuel pump the same or any problems i might encounter sappreciate any help some of my holes are wollered out for the waterpump

Technically, you can. However, you must use Balancer, pulleys, & brackets from similar (later) year, so everything will line up. I stock the 69-up Timing covers, plates & sleeves.
