Better oil control. The quicker you go the more it's needed.

A well designed oil pan/ windage tray/ scraper will remove the oil from the spinning crank, (Oil wraps around the crank like Taffy) and channels the oil back to the sump. The oil dragging on the crank uses up horsepower. By removing this drag on the crank you free up more HP to power the car down the track which results in a better MPH for
the pass.
