I own a 1970 Pontiac LeMans with a 350 Pontiac rebuilt to stock specifications and runs really good. It also has a column-mount powerglide transmission. I am thinking of converting to a floor-shift TH-350. What all (only the transmission) would have to be changed? The axle is a 10 bolt. Any help is appreciated.

Steve,
To perform this swap, you will need the following: Column shift auto 3pd column out of '69-72 Tempest-LeMans-GTO, Chevelle-Monte, or Grand Prix. Don't get one from a Skylark or Cutlass, as the lower bowl is fish mouthed to fit up against the lower edge of the Cutlass & Skylark dash bezels... the Cutlass-Skylark column will work in a pinch, but will will look funny. Upper & lower rods from column to tranny. Also believe the spring loaded swivel type piece is lacking on a Powerglide equipped '70-72 LeMans. Will also need the dustcover & will need the detent cable bracketry out of a '70 or '71 LeMans with T350. will also need the gas pedal & rod out of a same '70-72? LeMans with T350. If you get in a jamb, feel free & e-mail me, as I have numerous 70-72 LeMans parts cars & all have T350 setups.
