How much can be milled off a set of eheads? I know that you can .060 but is it possible to go more?

I went .075 on my 463 drag engine with no problem. I have heard you can go up to .100".
Just watch out for valve to piston clearance if you have a big cam.

I knew a guy who had .125 cut off some low compression heads by a speed shop.

The head gaskets leaked like a sieve, pushrod geometry was all screwed up, and the bolts all needed washers as most bottomed out in the block.

I have #16 heads [ 1968 ] that have been milled 0.110". I also had the intake face milled the same amount so that the intake alignment remained the same. With dished pistons, I have a CR of 10.2:1 & am using Felpro # 8518 head gaskets. I bent the mating edge of the valley cover to seal properly, the edge that seals along the bottom of the heads below the intake ports, because milling that face leaves a step that can be hard to seal. My cam has a reduced base circle, so valve tip/rocker tip relationship was perfect. I should add that these #16 heads were exceptionally clean & rust free in the coolant passages. I wouldn't have attempted that big a cut on badly rusted heads.
