Can anyone supply me with the correct information to perform a T-56 swap into my 1979 Trans Am, that was originally equipped w/a 4-speed? The transmission that I want to install is fronm a '99 F-body. Is there any way to avoid major floorpan sugery and retain the factory console? What will I need to do, to get this transmission to work in my car?

D&D Performance sells what you need to install one in your firebird. My friend is installing one in his 71 bird.no cutting or anything. e-mail me and i can get you in touch with him.
