I have a 1963 Lemans V8 car with manual steering that I would like to change to power steering. I have a parts car with the power steering set up. My question is: What or how much of the steering parts do I need to change on my manual steering to make it power?

If the parts car is a 63, take loose both tie rod ends, unbolt the bracket off of the left frame that the hydraulic cyl bolts to, remove the pitman arm off of the steering gear. Put the entire assembly under the other car. transfer over the pump & lines. you will have to drill a hole in the fenderwell for the hyd. lines to go through.

It sounds like the steering sector(box) should be the same for manual steering as it is for power steering then??
