This part for firebirds is connected to the roof rail where the door closes. It has some kind of rail that prevents water from dripping into the car window. It is chrome and I believe the weatherstriping goes over it. I am trying to find this part but I am having no luck. Can anybody help me out?

If you can e-mail me a picture of the location it is I will look at my 75 parts car. I'll look at it tonight and see if I can figure out what you are needing. Eric

Are you talking about a roof drip rail, or the channel that the window gasket fits into?

On the early 70s Firebirds, the drip rail was an optional part and was made of metal. In 1974, Pontiac started making them out of plastic, which didn't hold up too well. I think Pontiac switched back to metal for these parts in the later 70s Firebirds.

If your car doesn't have the drip rail, it could be because it wasn't shipped with it to begin with. My 70 Formula doesn't have the drip rails, and neither did my 73.

Mike

Here is the piece I think you are talking about. I had a vinyl top on my car so maybe I will need a different part now that I don't have vinyl. I only have this part for my passenger side.

Here is the other part/parts I need for both passenger and driver side. Can you tell me what they are and where I could get them?

Thanks, Eric

Oh, forgot. Do you have any 69 Grand Prix parts to trade? Eric

If you could, can you send me a picture of them. I'm unsure on how it fits on the car. Also are the parts you have for a Vinyl top or no? My car was an original rag top, and I don't know what would look better.
And what kind of parts do you need? I don't have a Grand Prix but I can look around down here in Texas for some parts.
Thanks for you help.

There is no remnants of a rag on the top, so I'm guessing it was not optioned that way. I will be able to get some pictures and look at how they go on next week. I've got your e-mail so I'll send them to you. As for 69 parts I need a rear valance, and a passenger side front fender. If I think of anything small I'll let you know. Thanks, Eric
