Looks good. And you have a LOT of wheel options with those adaptors. I wonder if those would work on a GTO? Hmmmm. Because I want to use 17" on my 66 GTO but I have no idea what size and backspacing to use and what tire sizes to get.
I am thinking 17X8 with 245/45/17 tires most likely but I don't know what backspacing.

I am going to be useing probably 13" rotors and 4 piston calipes up front and a Baer kit out back.

Very nice car and Mr GTO you should use 4 1/2 backspacing with the 17`s.No adapters needed.

Looks real good Will. Do you know if those adapters would work with Vette rims? There are some C4 and C5 rims that would look great on 71 Formula. Thanks, Jerry

is that the same wheel that is on the newer GP's? I wondered what it would look like on a GTO.

I'm running 17X8s with 4-1/2" backspace (zero offset) on my '64 Tempest, they fit pretty well with 235/45-17s all around. I had them built so they would give the car a wider track and I wanted a sort of 'deep dish' look for the wheels.

But to fit a bigger tire like a 245 up front without rubbing on big bumps I think 4-3/4" or 5" backspace would be better. Running a 4-1/2" backspace sort of limits the tire size a bit, in hindsight I wish I had gone for at least 4-3/4" backspace.

But hey, I can't complain too much.

Oh, nice job on fitting your wheels up Will.

Thanks everybody! It's good to know I'm not the only one who likes the look of these wheels.

Jerry G - yes, these adapters will work with C4 and C5 wheels. In fact, that's what VB&P used to advertise them for - putting C4 16x9" wheels on 2nd gens. However, you may need a different thickness depending on the exact backspacing of the wheel you go with. Best to get the wheels first then order the adapters that will give you the backspacing you need. I've seen 17x9" C4 wheels put on a '69 'bird using these adapters.

I used a set of 3/4" thick adapters to put 16x8" IROC camaro wheels on my '75 Nova. The IROC wheels have 4.75" backspacing on the front wheels and 5.5" on the rears which was too much for the Nova. With an 8" wheel, 4.75" worked perfect on that car. However, I did have to grind the recesses between the stud holes in the IROC wheels so the spacer's lugnuts would fit.

JoDurham, I do not believe these wheels are the same as the GP wheels. Pretty sure the GP wheels aren't as wide, and they may have a different (smaller) bolt pattern. Actually, I didn't know GM put 17" wheels on the GP's, I thought they were all 16" but then again, my knowledge of modern GPs is limited to my experience driving one for a week as a rental car and watching other people drive them down the track.

Man those blue wheels on the white TA look cool.

On a second gen the '89 16" lace WS6 wheels fit fine with 255-50-16s even using "rears" on the rear.
