We have only run one Dyno test on this new kit. Our 315hp rwhp GTO ran 10 hp better with the open dumps vs full flow Xlerator mufflers and 2.5" mandrel tailpipes. More testing will be done.

2.5 inch and 3 inch ?
How much longer are the cut out's going to be, I am ordering the exhaust system the 1st week of April. I like this idea, because now I can run a somewhat more quiet muffler. Pull the nut's off when racing, I am good to go.
The inserts can be installed after the cut outs?
Stainless? Aluminum ? Rust proof?
Any Modifications to hang them?

As you can see, I am ready.

3" should be ready by around the 1st week in April. The 2.5" should be done by the middle of April. The threaded studs and bolts will be stainless. The block off plates will be zinc plated steel.

Price is now set.

3" X pipe kit with X-Change $169
2.5" X pipe kit with X-Change $159

If you want just the X-change part to add to your existing Pypes X, the price is $79/pr.

They will also be available in polished ceramic coat. Probably and additional $125-$150

The 3" X will be shipping starting Monday March 29th. The 2.5" later in April.

The pipe is the same quality alumized but there are welds that will need to be protected with a good high temp paint. The threaded studs for the dumps are stainless. For those that are really conscious of rust, a Jet-Hot coated version will be available shortly.

Wow, I like it. I went to a Pontiac Track event this weekend and I was looking at some of the cut out systems that were used, all of them were up front, before the X and all were rusting !!

I'm coming Chris, I will give you a call in the next week or so and put together a system.
I hope I don't have as much trouble putting it together as 67cruiser did.
Is this a clamp on kit or does it need to be welded?
I don't have a welder and the old system is gone, I would really not want to tow it to the shop.

It's still a 5 piece kit. You can clamp at all 4 corners of the X.

I put one of the first 3" X-change X pipes on ebay with a $1.00 reserve. Maybe someone will get a bargain.

Chris, in the LS1 forums I've seen a lot of soleniod operated cutouts that were operated by a switch inside the car. Any plans for something like that? To be able to open and close them on the fly would be cool accept I think at the point you couldn't use the male insert.

HEY CCASS! Ever thought of developing head pipes for use with the Hedman Shorty Headers that would be a direct bolt up to your Pypes systems?
Josh

Sorry, I probably will not run another for a few weeks. I see that someone got the one listed for only $125! Good thing I didn't run a dutch auction.
