I've got a 3.5" system with an X crossover and Flowmaster 30s. I love the sound but my wife hates the sound level. Plus, I have to agree with her that it drones too badly on the highway.

Anyone have suggestions for another muffler that would lower the sound level but not hurt performance? I've got a fair bit into the engine and don't want the exhaust to choke it.

Kerry, I think the Dynomax UltraFlow is the way to go but not sure if they make a 3.5 inch.
You could use a 3 incher and a reducer of course. I run 'em on my Judge but have the 2.5 inch inlets and outlets

I recall reading here in the PY forums that the Ultraflows are quiet but couldn't find the forum string with that discussion.

I've looked up the UltraFlows on the DynoMax site and, yes, they do come in 3.5" in / out versions.

Looks as though my $1,000 then $1,300, then $2,900 system will now become a $3,200 system.

i run the dynomax welded ultra flow 3 inch on my car and they are alot quieter than my flow masters were during normal driving and highway driving. They will change in sound once they break in. I love the way it sounds when you give it full throttle...

I use an Edelbrock 4" straight thru muffler on the T/A, it's real quiet for a straight thru muffler.

Well, I'm getting the DynoMax Ultra Flow welded units. I'll report on the results.
