Thanks NMcCoy. It is the same thing they used on the 62-63 Super Duty Pontiacs. But they used them on 61-66 Ford Trucks like the 1 1/2 tons. Pat

Is that part still available from Ford? I know a guy who put one on his early 70s GMC pickup. Seems like I remember him saying it was still availbale, although I could be mistaken. I suffer from CRS badly.

Quite the conversation maker, this scoop talk.
I got this hood a few years back off ebay. The steel work is immaculate. I figure whenever I get the 2+2 painted I will have both hoods painted and decide which one to put on. I can think of worse things than having the Chevy look. It's not like I have clear taillights or neon....

Tim not sure if they are available from Ford yet. My dad had them from some old Fords his work scrapped years ago. He use to have one on his 63 F-150 4x4 he owned some years back.

that red 65 was a neat project...Brandon (aka Blackcat) and I both knew the creator of that car. As I recall, the underbracing on the hood was a match made in heaven for the T/A shaker.
I also remember being a passenger in that beast on a section of I-94 between Milwaukee and Madison when Mark (the car's creator) pulled it into second and planted his right foot to the boards...the combination of an open shaker atop a 3x2 atop a 428 simply ROARED, people! ...I think we got to the car show about a half-hour ahead of schedule if memory serves!!! it helps to stay tuned. |
