I first looked at the catalog from PY for shop manuals. They list them from 68 - 70 and then 74.

I then sent an email to PY and asked them which shop manual would be appropriate for a 72 lemans. They emailed me back saying this would be a good question for the board. I'm going in circles. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well, since apparently noone is re-printing the factory '72 manual yet. Look for an original. Best suggestions would be e-bay, or one of the dozen or more OEM literature sellers through Hemmings and the like.

My '72 manual was getting pretty ragged, so when I ran across a near-mint one on e-bay a few months back, I snatched it up for $25.00!

Hope this helps!

One more thing, it would help to have an original '72 Fisher Body manual as well. Same sources.

I haven't found anyone offering a reprint of the '72 assmebly manual, so I ordered a '71 A-body assembly manual off of e-bay since the '71 and '72 A-bodies are so similar. I'm disappointed with the quality, but it's got some really detailed information.

There is a listing here for tempest etc for 72 http://www.detroitiron.us/ I have the 1970 version and it includes the Fisher body manual. The CD's are laid out like the shop manuals. I have used it a lot.

I bought my `71 manual off e-bay, it is a reprint of the original, I`m very happy with it, paid 40. I think, I used it for my `72

I also have purchased the Detroit Iron CD, 71 LeMans Sport Conv. it works well and is full of info. It is great as another resource. I have actually printed out pages to take to my mechanic.
