They look the same but is the factory harness the same too? Sometimes sellers advertise Firebird 8 track players but they look the same as 69 and later GTOs.

I have sucessfully exchanged a Firdbird 8-track into a 69 GTO with no modification except changing the housing. Wiring is the same.

Yes, I have removed them from a bonneville, a GTO and from an Oldsmobile and I have the Delco schematic for repairing them. They were all the same unit from 69 thru 72.The speaker wiring can be different, but the plug on the unit is always the same. I'm not sure if they are the same after 72, though.
