Always nice to meet another darksider. I see you are also a '67 kinda guy. I am in the process of reassembling a '67 GP convertible frame-off so your presence will be very welcome.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Nice to see you hanging around here too, Steve. Thanks for the compliments, Pat. They sound a bit nicer than they look right now . . .

Harry, we have traded email directly on some parts. I have not forgotten about you, just been real busy with the kids and the holidays.

BTW, is your convertible a triple black car? Did you buy it in Minnesota?

Jim,

It is black top, black body, parchment interior. And yes I did buy it from Will in MN. I know I paid too much for it, particulary now that I have taken full inventory of what it came with and what I still need to buy. But it is the car I have wanted since '67 when it first came out. Besides the guy who bought my vette paid way more then I expected to get, so I guess it all works out in the end. Now if I can only find the time to finish the darn thing!

Harry,

I have had my convertible since 1983. It is the only car I have kept through college, marriage, two kids, two houses and numerous other car acquisitions and divestments. It will probably be another couple of years before the car is "done", and I will have way more invested in it that it will be worth (and I only paid $250 for it), but who cares. Keep plugging with yours.

Peace.

Jim

I bought my 1st GP conv.in 81.It was dark blue w/parchment.It was a rusty Mass.seacoast car.I had it painted black and used it in my wedding.I sold it in Oct.82.I bought my current one in Nov.83,(right when my daughter was born). It is loaded,ps.pb,pw,pvw,pseat,pant,ac,am/fm 8track,tilt/wood wheel, discs, cornering lamps.I converted it to a 4 speed + 3:42 posi 15 yrs ago.It is Linden Green(not for long, soon to be Tyrol Blue)with a parchment int with a white roof.Has not been run, with motor out for 12 yrs.It is a VERY solid CA.car.Every time I say I'm going to get it back together,I buy something else and the GP stays on the back burner. But I am now(finally)concentrating on putting it back together. It has made a great shelf in the back of my garage.

Steve,

I, too, suffered from the delays due to acquisition of other Pontiacs, race cars, etc. I have "retired" from racing for the forseeable future, so can concentrate on the Pontiacs.

Mine is not highly optioned, but does have P. ant. and cornering lamps. I think I am going to add A/C. 20 years ago I would have scoffed at the idea. Ahh, youth. Mine is white with black interior, but I was seriously thinking of also painting mine Tyrol blue. I parted out a HT that color and loved it.

I had planned on a 4 speed conversion for the convertible, but my wife wants to drive it, and prefers an auto (although she is quite competent with a manual trans). Now the HT will get the swap, probably to a 5 speed.

I think I will post a couple of questions on those two points seperately.

Happy New Year!

Jim
