I've just looked at the axle ratio code stamped on my 1961 Catalina Conv. The car was originally a 3 speed stick shift. The differential is stamped 9L. The Pontiac chassis shop manual lists a "9" (3.23 ratio) but nowhere can I find a 9L. The "L" is definately stamped and can not be confused with anything else.
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate the info. Please put "axle ratio code" in the subject line of the e-mail. Thanks. ...cars were meant to have bugs in the grill.
