WNTD: 1970 Trans Am parts- need a few minor things!!!
Picked up another Lucy Blue Trans Am today. Looking for a few original parts to make it right:
Ram Air battery cable heat shield tube Accelerator bracket Heat riser shield off driver manifold Long intake branch with heat riser valve 40838 fuel pump Fuel line pump to carb Sticker kit or whatever’s available Here’s a few details on the T/A Lucy blue/deluxe blue interior 4spd, A/C, power windows Original engine/trans Norwood built but looks to have been in CA for most of its life. Paint, interior, drivetrain restored. Few little hokey things to sort out. I know some repops are available but I’d like to find good originals if possible. Pics to follow. Thanks again! |

I have this available, don't know from what it came from, I got it in a parts lot I bought.

Thanks @yahooskidoo, but not quite right. Found the correct 40838 online this morning. Much appreciated though! Still need:
1. Exhaust manifold heat shield (probably going to go with a repop) 2. Accelerator cable bracket (bolts to manifold - repop likely) 3. Air cleaner snorkel for a Trans Am (the one on my car is missing for some strange reason) 4. Original sticker/decal kit for a blue '70 5. Original fan 6. Looking to trade a Rochester 7040570 (Ram Air III Auto, Julian Date 3189) for a 7040573 (Ram Air III Manual) I appreciate any leads... Last edited by Goated66; 04-03-2022 at 08:42 PM. |

What's the build date of your car? I have several fans and will see if I have a correctly dated one.

Checked and I have 3 480033 fans with two dated D70 and one dated F70.
I am in need of one 480033 fan dated in late 70 for my early 71 built TA.

FYI you don’t need this. Ram air cars did not have a tube for the positive cable. The cable routes underneath the left manifold. Original cables had an insulating wrap (maybe an asbestos based material ? In that era). There should be 2 small brackets to locate the cable and I suspect they are made of unobtanium.
