Dougs Headers Fitment
Posting here to hopefully get more eyes on this, instead of in the 67-69 Firebird section.
I'm looking for information or hopefully some pictures of where and how close to the floor pan the dougs headers fit up to a first gen bird. The crusty 30+ year old hedman 3tubes on my car need replaced, but they're too dang low. I'd love to go to a true 4 tube longtube. If the collector sucks up to the floor pan a bit better on the dougs offerings, I'd like to go that route over a shorty header. If you've got any information or pictures, I'd appreciate your input!

Dougs 1-3/4" and 3" exhaust on a 68 convertible. There was enough clearance to floor. pic hard to see how close it is but the other is the rest of the system which came out of the header with a pretty straight shot.

That's helpful Steve, thank you. Can you give me an idea of how far below the sub-frame the collector sits?
This is my issue currently. At the collector on my current system I have a total of 2" of ground clearance to the collector flange. It's forward enough in the car that for the most part I don't have issues, but I scrape that flange on any real breakover.

JLMOUNCE i got under it and my subframe is 5.75" off the ground. Header collector flange is 5.5" off the ground. They fit very level to the frame rails. See pics attached. pipes are tucked you just see the bottom of the flange.

Thank you Steve, that's exactly what I needed to see! These fit up WORLDS better than my old 3 tube hedmans. My subframe is 3.5" from the ground, but the collector flange is only 2" from the ground. Sounds like I'd gain a solid inch of clearance with these. The car needs to be brought up a bit. It doesn't bottom out nearly as much as you'd think it would, but having another half inch would make a lot of difference.
I'll probably do a set of Ultimate Headers low profile socket joints at the collector to save a bit more room.

Dougs fitment
Not able to get Dougs installed on A-body with 4 speed trans- no accommodation whatsoever. I hear they fit auto trans much better

I have a set of supercomps which fit too tight. When new I had to put a torch to them and tweak them a little to give a bit of clearance from the floor. I've got a set of Doug's but I'm not ready to put the new motor in just yet.
Those earlier photos were great!

I have mine up in the air right now doing the suspension stuff so I can get any more pictures if you need.
I have mine flanged in so the X pipe is removable using traditional 3 bolt exhaust flanges. If I had to do it again I would have had them use V bands instead. Or something like the flanges you posted.
