'73 Formula 400-Name this part? Pics to see.
This is the first time I have seen one of these. What is it?

thats the fuel line jigger .Its a 73 only .

I believe Telly is correct. I think it's called the Fuel Line Accumulator. Also, from memory, these were recalled because of a fire issue and replaced with a bracket that held the fuel lines in place instead.

On the car, it looked like the rubber line was continuous behind the bracket. The front of the bracket looks like two opposing nipples. I did not check to see if they were hollow inside for use as a connection.
Just a part I hadn't seen before. Thanks for the info. |

Yes, fuel accumulator is the correct term. Originally, the 3/8" gas line was connected to each side of the accumulator, & the cast on hose holder was for the 1/4" return line. They did have a tendency to corrode internally & start to leak, so often were tossed. The part number was 491326.

When was the recall issued? My late March built Grand Am doesn't have an accumulator, but my January 6th built GTO does.

...off topic here, too bad they didn't get the SD455 into those '73 GTO's as planned, they are a great looking car, nice!
