I want to put a remote mirror on the wife's 69 convertible. Can anyone give me a description or send some pics of what an original one looked like? Did it interchange with any other models or years?

According to the new 67 - 69 Restoration Guide, 67 had a round mirror; 69 had a rectangular mirror; 68, depending on build date, could have either.
The reproduction mirrors are of very good quality.... John

I looked for one for 4 years, found the GTO types in flea markets, but never a Firebird. I understand that the GTO mirror housing looks the same, but had a different mounting arm and oval control, rather than the FB rectangular control. I got frustrated and put on a pair of rectangular fixed types. I believe that there was a matching non remote style (larger body)for the passenger side, but hardly anyone ordered them and they aven more difficult to find. That is what I heard or read and I'm not sure if it's true.
