Here's the pics, fixed.
Not sure 1/4" would make that big of a difference, but ok. And I was thinking it was 'scrubbing' on the body or something. Scrubbing on a dip or rise in/out of a parking lot or driveway is nature of the beast when you lower a car. You get one more person in there and that 1/4" will go away. .

This is the Hotchkis install doc:
https://hotchkis-files.sfo2.cdn.digi...ions/2202F.pdf I don't see any 'adjustments' that can be made, except for the amount the end links are tightened? "12. Tighten end link nut to the point where the end link bushing’s diameter is just larger than it’s support washer." .

That’s what I meant. Adjusting the end links. I’m sure I had them in a bind before. I had them tightened way past the recommendation under the impression that more is better

You are right that 1/4 of an inch goes away but it doesn’t really scrub it’s just if you hit a dip or something it bottoms out. I am gonna get the UMI part number 4048 springs I think. One thing I am humble enough to admit is that you gotta be careful what you wish for. All the trick stuff doesn’t always add up to a great experience.

Do you know which ones you have now? They make a factory height, 1" drop, and a 2" drop spring.
The rate is 530lbs for all of them. If you bottom on dips in the road at speed, you need more. They rate them for chevy small AND big block, and Pontiac 400s. That's a pretty wide spread and doubt they are optimum for any of them. It's not really a 'be careful for what you wish for' thing, it's a 'be careful what you buy' thing. A red flag for me is when they list the same spring for SBC & BBCs, among other things. .

I have the 2 inch drop. I called UMI about the 4048 set and they said it was truly stock and would make the ass sag. I don’t want that so I gotta do some shopping

Call Global West. You won't be disappointed. And, if you don't like them, they will swap them out for free.

I have the full UMI Stage 3 suspension kit in my '66 with 1" lowering springs (p/n 4050) and I think the ride height is pretty much perfect for a "normal" stance. No bottoming out, no front tire contact with front wheel openings (with 26.1" tall 235/60R15 tires) & wider front track due to disc brakes. No issues. This photo is from two months ago before I got the front & rear windshields installed. No change to ride height with glass in, and car is now at full weight.

Ok I am at a loss. The interior is mostly done (headliner and a few button up items) but the car still has a lot of road noise and I’m not talking about exhaust or anything but more like when I sling a piece of gravel up in the wheel well going down the highway it sounds like it rattles forever. If I hit something like a pothole and bounce the car it sounds like the trunk is a giant echo chamber. I have the divider in place between the rear seat and trunk and only helped marginally. Any tips on quieting it down that does not include exhaust? That seems to be good right now.

Did you use Dynamat or Lizardskin or some other kind of noise suppression when you built the car? How are your door seals? Even if they are new doesn't necessarily mean that they are actually sealing. Try the dollar bill test. Use a bill between the seals on the door when closed. If it slides very easily then the seals
are not tight enough. |

I used sound deadener on everything that didn’t move. I got one think my gas tank rubs my trunk floor. I gotta look into that but if I hit anything in the road other than a small pothole it sounds like I hit a speed bump at 70. Mindy it doesn’t feel this way it just sounds that way

I have discovered that I'm in the same boat. I have both the cardboard rear seat divider and the jute, and the trunk still sounds like a big hollow drum. I sprayed the the entire underside of the body and wheel wells with 3M body shutz undercoating, then sprayed the entire floor pan inside the cabin with a textured coating, then installed 80mil butyl sound deadening that covers the entire inside of the firewall all the way back to the bracing for the trunk divider, and did inside the doors and roof panel. It's decent, but the trunk is much noisier than I'd have hoped for. Before I restored my car, the previous owner had glued down a foam pad to the trunk floor, which probably did wonders to quiet it down, but also soaked up water and caused rot. Maybe bolting a spare tire to the trunk floor will help quiet down that panel.
