Snowflakes
Thanks for the pics. Again, looks just plain ole wrong on 70-73's.... Awesome on the 77 and ups!

I think they look awesome on a early bird. I would like to see them on a 68-72 GTO as well.
What size tires are you running? Tell us a little about your suspension as it looks lower than stock. |

The look...awesome, great, et al.
What backspacing and tire sizing are you running? |

I dig 'em on the early cars!
Imagine them w/ a body colored accent like a 73 T/A in red- or a black centered/fully polished one on a Brewster green 73 or an early model black Formula-- HOT!!

Any idea on the max rear tire size that we can use with the 17's. I think most answered the fronts, but not the rears. Thanks

I'll have to disagree with you. NOV8TR's 72 looks great!

They look great - not a flame, but the boat-anchor like weight is keeping me from pulling the trigger.
Has anyone weighed the 15x8's? |

Even though the 17's will of course weigh more, you should save some of that weight back, since the tires have less mass.

the 15 x 8's are listed as having 4 1/4" backspacing.... Is this a typo? I'm pretty sure my factory 15 x 8 snowflakes have 4 3/4" backspacing. Do these repros have the same backspacing as the originals?

wheel weight comparison
I weighed my 15x7 rally II's with 255/60/15 tires, and then weighed the 17x9 snowflakes with 255/50/17 tires and the snowflakes weighed 3 lbs more than the rally II's.

Discoquik,
Tazz2 is trying to build a 17X9.5 honeycomb. You may try to PM him. I'm really hoping for a 12" rear wheel for my minitubbed '76. If yearone can't do it, I say lets give the "little guy" a try. Not sure how far along he is, but I already told I'd like to be first is line for a 17X9.5 and a 17X12 (for a 335 tire). For those 17" snowflake lovers, a 275-40ZR17 should fit no prob on a 17X9 rim. Go with a 245 or 255-50 up front on 17X8 rim. This is what Tazz2 is working on. I say let's give him some support! Tazz2, forgive me if I'm being too forward here. I really want to see this happen.

Here's some pics after I lowered the car 1 inch all the way around. I also got a chance to detail it and shoot the pics around noon so less problems with shadows.
