Yeah, I saw that text, but wasn't sure what it really meant. Good to know.

All the final fitment and welding is completed. All the gaps are perfect on the doors and the deck lid.
Even with new sheet metal my body man had a lot of hours just making it all fit correctly Looking like a nice solid car now All the EDP is sanded off and ready soon for epoxy primer |

More set backs
The floor looked good and solid when I bought the car although it did have a partial floor pan put in on the passenger side front.
After having it on the rotisserie and taking a closer look You can see it had pin holes and amateur repairs made so I decided to replace with a full floor pan and braces too. The floor turned out great but it also opened up Pandora Box. |

What was in Pandora's box?

A Pillar Rot
I visually checked all the prone areas before I bought the car especially the A Pillars
Once the floor was removed you can see the inner cowl was totally rusted thru Seems like this was repaired years ago with tin tape and fiberglass and hid the rot well Cut out all the rot, I bought inner A pillars, outer cowls and replaced all the rust. First thing to do was add more bracing to the existing bracing that was put in for the floor replacement |

Floor is all in and spot welded and plug welded.
All the A Pillar rot is replaced with new metal from AMD. Starting to see the end of the tunnel and the light until We decided to replace the front firewall The only reason I decided to replace the fire wall was because when the partial front floor pan was replaced they cut up into the firewall and it was an amateur job at best. I wanted a cleaner look with no weld seams.....and another Pandora's Box opened up again |

We now know why the lower A Pillars were all rotted
We replaced the lower windshield channel and saw rot holes on the upper cowls that someone just filled in with seam sealer that was just falling apart and water was leaking down the inner cowl for years. Had to sacrifice new AMD outer cowls just for the upper pieces we needed. The fender and wiper cowl cover this so we didn't replace the whole outer cowls. Trying just to move on from the rust... I actually think we got it all at this point I give my body guy a lot of credit. He never threw in the towel and just kept going. It got to a point it was more of a challenge. |

Spent the last 2 weeks working on the frame while my body guy is working on the body.
I sandblasted and painted the frame and installed the front disk conversion kit along with all new brake and fuel lines, A arms, ball joints and steering components. The body is finally coming together too. Finally seeing real progress. |

I got my dash cluster back today from Instruments Specialties.
They refinished the cluster and heater control too. I have standard gauges. I stained and applied the wood inserts and reassembled. |

Front Restoration
Really like that painting tree. I had to hang my stuff from the garage door tracks and then leave the door open during drying time.

Nice looking project...Where did you get your trunk floor(manufacturer?) and where did you get the trunk drop downs? I thought they were only available for '66.

The trunk floor and drop downs are from Dynacorn.
The drop downs are not made like the originals and had to be modified to fit the quarters I suspect they might be Chevelle pieces being sold as Pontiac also. |

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if they were making "correct" 67 dropdowns. It was my understanding that the dropdowns were for 66 and you needed to save the rearmost portion of your originals to modify the repros to fit 67.

Just curious, do you have any photos showing how the rear window mounting surface attaches to the package tray metal in the lower corners? See attached photo (not my car) for what I'm curious about. I've been having a hard time finding a good detailed shot.

I look through all my photos and this is the only photo that comes close to what you are looking for.
I hope it helps out |

Based on the photos I've seen (which haven't been very conclusive), it appears that because the outer deck panel sits on top of the parcel tray, the glass mounting surface along the bottom edge of the window sits above the mounting surfaces that come from the sides. I'm not sure if this is actually true, or if maybe it is true but doesn't matter because the glass adhesive can make up for the overlapping metal where the deck panel sits atop the parcel tray.

I am at my shop now and just took this photo
The channel on the sail panels that are part of the rear quarters are flush with the Dutchman panel so in reality the complete channel around the whole rear window is all flush so the window sits flush too if that makes sense |
