Well then let me know when you want to talk about Carroll Shelby and his relationship with the West Texas oil tycoon and road racer who originally owned my SD.

Yes.
http://www.ascglobal.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Specialty_Cars But since the founder's death (and even before), they seem to have been floundering a bit. Not sure whether there's anyone there that could provide any history going back to the early 70s...

Good find on ASC. They have a lot of contact info on their site. It's probably worth an email to them with some VIN info to see if they have any old records of the car.

Be interesting to see if Pontiac was billing these out on the window stickers in '76.
I would like to see the window sticker(s) for this Formula. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...E:B:SS:US:1120 . I do know, for a fact that all "Manufacturer listed Dealer accessories" had an "add on" or additional window sticker added to vehicles. It was white, rectangle, red print, some info was hand written. I hated them, customers hated them. Sales "folks" would get a ugly stripe, or damn dumb tissue box installed and BAM a new sticker and added on prices.

Not to ask a stupid question... but if the sunroof option cost extra money, why wouldn't it appear on the PHS for the F-body? They appeared on the A-body line's sheets ($325 option for CA1 in 1973) so I can't understand why the F-body would be any different (presuming it actually *was* available from the factory which seems to be the real debate ;-) ).

I worked at a auto conversion co. like asc (cars & concepts) and most of the large volume vehicle conversions that we did were listed on the window sticker

LOL. That's almost as bad as the 1980's fake convertible top "covers" made out of fiberglass that would be installed over your entire roof. |

As expected, nothing shows up on the PHS.
The quest continues...

Real interesting story on ASC, their founder and their contributions to the automotive industry.
http://throwinwrenches.blogspot.com/...n-sunroof.html http://throwinwrenches.blogspot.com/...unroof_25.html http://throwinwrenches.blogspot.com/...roof_6769.html Does anyone know where their facility was located in the LA area in the 70's? Is this it? 1862 S LA CIENEGA BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA 90035-4604 or this? 3540 W Warner Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92704 or this? 17162 Gothard St Huntington Beach, California 92647-5420

This is an old thread, I know. I found a 1978 Formula with what appears to be an ASC sunroof. Its not a chopped hack job, it looks really really nicely done. I am looking for parts and info on the internet now but not finding much info.
