Sadly, I haven't run since I blew up my head gaskets over three years ago. The damage is fixed, but the car is still apart. Covid (my wife and I are both old and she was immune-compromised at the time) and a complete remodel of my house have taken all my time. I blow the dust off the car every once and a while, but that's it. Jim

I’m in the same boat as you for some of the same reasons, but I am retiring soon and think I can focus on the car much more then. For now I’m trying to something on it each week, even if it is only order parts some of those times. Good luck Rob

No reason to lock this thread. We can all talk about things.
Do what we can on our own individual level. Its a good thread. Thanks to Scott for starting it. Did a little clean up in the garage Sunday to see where I am at and get back at it. Can not let another year go by without running the car. |

Nice addition, and nice shop. If things work out for me I will have a shop in a year or so. My own Pontiac Land.
Bad time to build though, cement will be expensive. |

I don't knock this forum or its members- a valuable resource for this old Pontiac fan (built my first Pontiac V8 in 1959 and turned 80 before my first run on a landspeed track).

Thanks Tom. Good eye on the year. Most seem to think it's a 67 due to the grills. I like a 67 front with 66 rear lights.

I owned at one time a 64, 65, and 66 (at the same time).
Stored the 65 and 66 at my uncles dealership. Both were southern Florida cars. My uncle the Pontiac dealer said you need to move a couple of these cars off the lot. So I asked which one I should keep. He said keep the Tri-Power M/trans 64 Convertible. 1st year of the GTO and will be the one to keep. The 65 would have made a great race car. I later bought a 64 Chassis car (14/32 tubs, custom frame, rack and pinion, etc). Basically rust free. He was right. Tom V.

I think this would be a good idea and I would enjoy reading LS based race stuff. Possibly the "Race" section could be renamed "Race/Technical" or "Traditional Race/Technical" and a separate "LS Race/Technical"

When I start back on it, that's how I'll do it--eating the elephant one bite at a time. That's how I'm doing the house remodel--doing almost everything myself and learning as I go along. I hope to finish the remodel soon (never completely done with a 75-year-old house ). Once I start back on the race car, I know I'll get into it quickly.

That is sweet. You need to post a thread about it with more pics and details.

Car was owned by Wayne Garrison. Changed hands a couple times after he passed. Jaybird455 on here had it and offered it to me. It's a nice piece and could not pass it up. I'm repowering it with the 525 aluminum wide port spray engine in front. Currently has a 505 with high ports.
