wow... that does look odd.

Maybe someone can speak up - concerning if this was something that was seen on occasion for 1969 model year GTO's ect...

That is normal I believe.
Pontiac was anticipating the longer VIN sequence coming and was preparing for the room on plate?

Okay, other than space it looked okay to me. Looks like they sold it later. Only bid to 40k going across the block.

VIN looks fine, lots of them are like that, sometimes its the model specific info that is different than the rest, like if they had been pre-stamped with the 2 and the sequential number, the model and bodystyle digits (4237 for example) was maybe stamped later at some plants.
