When you live in the country, you have to own some goats and birds.

This is a very late build 1974 455 automatic T/A. I almost didn't buy this one because I couldn't find the engine code in the shop manual. It was a factory HEI car built in June 1974. The seller was the original owner, who claimed the engine had never been changed.

I believe it is Y9.
A few years later, I picked up a 74 Pontiac shop manual that had a supplement that listed the engine code. I was able to verify the VIN number stamp in the block matched the PHS after I bought it. It was a one owner car. The owner had a farm with about a 1/2 mile dirt road, so any oil film on the motor became a paste. I didn't find the engine code until I got it home and cleaned the motor. Here's a 75 that I'm parting out. Despite what it may look like in the pix, it's a rotbox, and is a part donor for my 74 T/A and my 73 Formy.
Here's a 75 T/A I parted out two years ago. It was another rot box held together by tiger hair fiberglass in the back end. Here's yet another 75 I had, but sold to someone else after I took the parts I needed.

10 Years in the making
I have owned the car for 30 years. The last ten spent doing a total frame off. Every nut and bolt removed. Sandblasted the entire bottom of car. Powder coated everything, including the rear end springs, and inner fender wells. Lizard skin inside and out. Finally home and finishing it off. 400-4spd car with black interior and white seats. 70,000 org miles. Never winter driven. 95% original sheet metal. Color is 2009 350Z Gotham Grey.

Congratulations, If is has been apart for ten years the restoration usually never gets finished. I can't seem to finish my interior that I started on last fall, my excuse is that it was to cold to work on it. It seems spring is here so I have to start on it again.
The grey color will look great |

74 Formula
This is my 1974 Formula 400 as it sat 1 day ago at work. I recently had the suspension rebuilt with poly bushings and new front springs, yea it sits high but that was a money issue. Stock suspension for now if I choose to keep the car. I've owned it since 1996 when I was 21. It had 82k then and has 102k now. I just had another 74 400 built with KRE heads, cliff's qjet rebuild, sun tuned distributor, new Pypes exhaust, hurst rebuilt original shifter, freshened Muncie 4speed and refinished front seats. It needs a full resto but the good part is I have the original front fenders to repair and both complete quarters, trunk floor and rear body pan. The original 400 is in storage. The thrill of this car when I was young has slightly worn off and I'm debating on selling it and buying a newer T/A.
