That hood looks pretty sweet. Have always thought the G-body hood needed something...

I've been thinking of a shaker hood on mine. I know of an MCSS that has one and I always liked them on the Trans Am's.

Doesn't Jim Wangers Ponte Carlo have a shaker on the hood?

Finally got around to separating the body from the frame. Only had one body mount bolt that gave me a hard time. A few of the body mount bolts were about half as thick as they were new. I did not use an impact wrench to take out these bolts. I've found better success using a ratchet wrench. Next step will be to clean up the frame and paint it.

I love pulling bodies off frames... it's been a long time for me, I'm jealous!

It sounds harder than it really is. This one went pretty easy. I've done some real pigs that fought me right to the last thread. The car is now on a rotissary. I'll try to get some pictures posted of that.

Here's the Aero Coupe on the rotissary. You can see that the rotisserie is home made. Actually works pretty good. Myself and friend Chris built it, been using it for years.

I was just thinking looking at the pics of the car on the rotisserie... the HVAC hole in the firewall is BIGGER than the trunk opening! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! They should have definately (and given more time, might have) made it a hatchback.

Your right, I didn't realize how much firewall the HVAC took up. Used to looking at those A-Body firewalls, sure surprised me. Gotta link up to that Classic Restorations project might get some pointers from it. Bet they get theirs done alot quicker too.

Holy cow !! I just checked out that Aero Coupe project. Somebody has some DEEP pockets. Hopefully that car when done will be shown a some of the bigger Pontiac events. I'm scraping off the undercoating from the frame right now on mine. I did plan on reinforcing the frame in the rear. I like the way they added metal near the lower control arms. One thought that I had was to tie the two rear coil towers together near the shock mounts.

OK, four years so far, I don't feel so bad. Of course the type of custom work being done on that Aero Coupe is impressive.

And expensive... I bet it belongs to one of the guys who works in the shop. That keeps the cost down b/c he's doing all the work himself. Seriously, what owner of a 86 2+2 would do that??? They kid is probably 28yrs old and no wife or kids, works 120hrs a week (40 on customer pay and the rest on his own stuff!) and he ran out of money. HAHAHAHAHA! Ask me how I know... been there, done that!
