'55-59 lower hose
Although I'm asking about a V8 '59 GMC, the same question applies to all '55-59 Pontiacs. Where did the return line from the heater originally go (ashamed to admit that I can't remember)? Since neither the water pump nor timing cover has a provision for it, I assume it either tee'd into the lower hose, or the radiator's lower tank had a nipple for it. Anybody? If a tee was used in the lower hose, does anybody know a source of the parts (hoses and tee)?

Yes there is a metal tube with a T, Dont know a source. Might have to fabricate one out of copper tubling.

Jack , on my 55 there is a nipple on the lower tank on the drivers side. The return pipe from the underseat heater went to it. The 58-59 I believe are set up similar. Unless you could have a radiator shop or yourself add one to your tank? Or build something for the lower hose as mentioned.
Here's a 59' set up: http://www.pontiacsafari.com/MPC/Pages/page_0497.jpg

My '57 GMC V8 lower connection starting at the radiator consists of a straight piece of hose, a metallic (copper colored) 90 degree L with a nipple on it that the return line from the heater attaches to, and another straight piece of hose that attaches to the input side of the timing cover.
Pretty sure it is stock.

There wasn't a T on mine. I think the hose goes from the bottom of the radiator to the heater then back to the intake. Right? Right now I just have mine run from the radiator to the intake temporarily since I didn't have enough hose to do it right when I hooked everything up

Thanks, Bill. Other than salvage yards, do you know of a source? I couldn't find such a piece on Carter's site, or the other repro places.

Jack:
Given you skills, I figured you'd just machine one out of a solid block of something. I'll keep my eyes open.

Now why did you need to go and suggest that? I just told my son that the mill is available this weekend...
