Dynoed 76 TA today
Got to take the car to a Mustang dyno today and I am very pleased with the numbers I got. The final number for the day was 441 HP @5000 and 500 ft-lbs @ 4000. Made some timming and jet changes during the runs. I picked up about 13 HP and a couple of ft-lbs.I'm not sure if the RPM's are exact because the shops crank pickup was broke so they set the RPM by my tach. I say this because when I had the motor dynoed it made 558 HP @5300 at the crank so I guess its close.
The motor is a 400 stroked to 461 with a HR cam and KRE 310 CFM heads. A torker II and 825 Mighty Demon. It also has 1 3/4" headers and a full 3" exhaust system with H pipe.Oh, it is 5-speed with 3.23 gears. Jeff D Last edited by J Druin; 09-07-2006 at 03:52 PM. |

Yes, A little over a year ago I dynoed the motor at KRE and it made 558 HP at the crank. At the time of the dyno I was using 1.65 rockers, now I have 1.5's on there. The reason for the change was because the 1.65's were giving .594 lift on the exhaust and after I did some checking I found that the retainer was hitting the seals at about .590. So, I went back to the 1.5's. The reason I don't have as much clearance is because I had KRE install valves I already had and I think they are .100 in shorter than what they install. Only have about 6 runs at the 1/8 mile track and I havn't been able to get it to hook. Best so far is a 7.97 @91.44 MPH with a 2.05 60ft at a race weight of 3850 lbs. Hopefully I will get a chance to go to Beech Bend Raceway and get some 1/4 mile times soon.
Larry, no I am not using a spacer but I do use one of those 1/4" thick gaskets. Also, I didn't get a chance to run the car with the WFO installed. Last edited by J Druin; 09-07-2006 at 03:55 PM. |

ponjohn, its the CC XR288HR 236, 242 @.050 and .520, .540 lift. TII port matched about 1.5 inches up the runners and about 10 to 1 comp. Jeff D
