Clevite or Federal Mogul Bearings?
I pulled out the 463 for routine maintenance and inspection. My bearings are showing a little wear from racing and occasional nitrous use. The crank looks great but I'll measure everything today.
With that said, the motor currently has Clevite bearings in it -.010 crank and -.020 rod. Looking on Butler, they are twice the price as the FM bearings. KRE doesn't even list Clevite bearings, only FM. Is there a quality difference between the two to justify the price difference?
