Default Accelerator cable direct replacement

Accelerator cable snapped at the gas pedal this weekend (that was fun).

I tried to find a direct replacement on line to match up to what I have, but the on I ordered doesn't match at all. (See OER part #9792222 attached photo) but I missed the fine print for 2V only. Different type of mounting tabs and not quite the same length.

I since found that Ames lists specific 68 4v part ( FN377). Does anyone have experience with this one? Is it a drop in replacement or do I just need to get a generic cable, re-use the old sleeve and cut to fit? Also, not clear from catalog photos is it should be FN377 or FN377F??
