Question '67 Vacuum Dashpot Adjustment

I have one of these vacuum diaphragm dashpots on my 67 GTO automatic. I can't find anything about how to adjust it.

I think I remember seeing something about getting idle speed and curb idle set then adjust the threaded part of the dashpot until it touches the bracket + 2 turns more(??)

I don't know if that's right or not, it has been a long time. There is nothing I could find in the Pontiac service manual, of course I could have missed it.
Anyone remember how to set this thing?

Thanks!
