Default Drum Brakes

Now that I got the drum off I have a few questions. I took a photo of the front drum brake for you to review. I think I am missing key pieces of the adjuster that allows it to self adjust. I am assuming they are suppose to be on the front?

Also, since I'm going to have to get new drums do I have to or should I replace the brake shows too?

Both front cylinders, bleeders and hoses seem to have been replaced at sometime. Both sides look good with no leaks.
