Phil, from what I've read about the RR radiators, they transfer more heat than equivalent-sized OEM radiators.
I think the point is well made that a more efficient radiator may finally fix a overheating problem but the root cause should be corrected. Obviously in your case it sounds like the proper things have been done. I don't belive mention was made of using vacuum advance, preferable manifold vaccuum. That'll help at idle and part throttle. Extended idle is a particularly tricky issue for cooling, especially with A/C and high ambient temps. fan speed is slow so there is minimum airflow, pump speed is slow also, so there is minimum coolant flow. Add to that, the engine creating too much waste heat for some tuning issue and you have a worst case scenario. From your setup so far, I would check on the vac advance issue, possibly increase the fan and shroud size. If then everything is as good as you can get it, go for the RR; OR go for the Rodney since the fan and larger shroud will cost some bucks anyway; you may as well put those bucks towards the Rodney.
