68 dash knob help
I’m having trouble removing wiper knob bezel and cig lighter container insert.
What’s the trick? |

uput you hand behind the dash to the switch, and rotate that back-n-forth, while using a small screwdriver to keep the slotted ferrule.
Make a slotted ferrule tool from a 3/8 (or so) steel line. |

I ended up figuring it out.
My knob kit came with a lighter bezel. However the bezel doesn’t make sense though unless the lighter container is wrong in there. I don’t see how I’d use it. |

68 A & B models used a soft aluminum ferrule around the lighter. Not reproduced and comes up occasionally on ebay.
The "LIGHTER" bezel included in the kits are for 69-72 A bodies

Oh ok. So my lighter is correct then.

Aluminum ring was a "theory" to spread the Heat better.
....yet we all use the "Lighter" bezel, and toss the plain aluminum bezel. A matter of taste you know. |

I actually didn’t even notice a difference until I realized I didn’t know how to use that bezel in the kit.

Pretty sure the lighter bezel thing has been covered before and it is determined by which lighter you have, rochester or casco.
