My wife's 2017 2SS does not.

It was not cheap, but I wanted a new dated tire, and something small that wouldn’t take up too much trunk space.

Did it come with a 12 volt air compressor and a can of tire puncture sealant? |

Yes. It had that and the car battery mounted in the trunk. I never used the tire repair kit while I owned the car.

My 2015 SS convert has a pump and sealer . I think the plainer models come with compact spares. I believe it has to due wheel size or brake size. My Cam. has 20" wheels w 14 " Brembo brakes

My 2014 RS had a spare tire. It also had 20" wheels. It did not have Brembo brakes

The spare tire on late model Camaros is an option that the vast majority
built do not have. |

What do you need it for? Fit over brakes?

yes, switched to a prototype design using 13" Corvette rotors and truck calipers - superb braking on a budget.
The older version I was using; 79 rear T/A rotors (11-1/4") and 69-72 GTO calipers worked fine but looked tiny in the 17" Bandit U109's... I also dispensed with the dual 9" booster and ran 1974-80 GMC 1/2 ton manual master - works fine even with rear disc. |

Very cool. What about the G8? It might have come with a spare? I know the 04-06 GTO’s did but I’m not sure they are large enough for what you need?

When I took delivery of my 2009 G8 GT in 2009 I talked to a engineer at GM about the spare and we made arrangements to have the spare tire in the trunk of a base model G8 installed on a GT. It fit on both the front and rear. The only concern was using the spare on the rear with the limited slip axle. Note: The limited slip axle was not available on base model G8’s. So if you had a flat tire on the rear of your GT/GXP you may have to put the smaller diameter spare on the front and take the front tire and put it on the rear. I then found out about a dealer who was selling jack kits for less than dealer cost. I figured the dealer must have been buying the kit directly from the supplier. So I ordered a kit from the dealer. I then ordered the steel space saver wheel from GM parts using my GM employee discount. The hard part was buying the actual space saver tire. It came from a supplier in China and there were none in the US and none on order. Eventually I talked to the right person at GM Parts and he said he had a few other calls about the tire and that he would place an order for 50. |

04-06 GTOs have a metric bolt pattern.

The G8's are the same as the Camaro's the V6 powered cars come with a spare tire and jacking kit, the V8 powered cars have no spare tire, or jacking kit. They come with the air compressor and fix a flat.
And throw out the fix a flat if it is more than 3 or 4 years old, the cans have an expiration date, and can blow out. I had the one in my 2006 Solstice blow out shortly after I bought in it 2016. What a mess to clean up!

Skip: yes, they are 120mm vs. 120.65mm (4.724").
Not ideal but for a very short drive to a repair shop, acceptable. BMW's have the same pattern also. CamerJeff: ah, that is the difference. A friend has a 2015 V6; he will bring the spare by the shop and we shall see if it fits. |
