REALLY FAST CARS Post up your Opinions Examples
Assume we are talking a NA Vehicle. No Boost, Nitrous, Turbo, Supercharger.
(We have a Boost Forum for that discussion already). Just interested in what is left out there (with so many racers no longer racing, passing on, etc). Just some examples: No wars, no slurs, no slander. Tom V.

What about Dwight and John Snider?

They are fast also (IMHO). Dwight is not as fast as the other two. Snyder is very close, maybe he's been faster than the King once, but I don't think so. I think Langer gets the crown as he is consistently out there running the number. Snyder's engine builder's seem to have delays with John's engine projects.

I just remembered JL switched to a manual transmission this year. He picked up a bunch and set the class record. Most of the competitors started complaining about the BOP weight breaks after he set the record.

When Langer and Matukas get the chassis consistent with the Liberty, the NA 10.5 racers are going to start yelling to the gods to add weight to his car.

Interesting Paul. I didn't know that he went the manual transmission route. Do you know how much it picked up?

John Snyder has run 7.59 @ 178 NA on the 275 drag radial.... Since then he switched to a nitrous class and is sorting the new combo out.

It has been a few years since I saw any of them at the track. But John Snyder was running N/A in the same class as Jeff Kinsler was running nitrous. It was an 1/8 mile class. Do you know if Chris U is still building John's engines? Stan

Hi Stan, I'm not sure about John and KK running the same class back then. I would think nitrous cars would never compete against NA. I think last year they both competed in a 275 nitrous class. I also believe Chris has done some work for JS but doubt he is his only engine guy. Last edited by PAUL K; 12-29-2022 at 11:28 AM. |

When JS ran the above time at the 2018 World Cup 1/4 mile Wild Street Class he was not using nitrous. I believe he had the fastest NA Pontiac on the property that day.

They are tiger 1’s that we heavily modified and kind of were the prototype for the tiger 2’s. I jokenly call them cv-juans as a dig at cv-1’s since mine blow them out of the water. There were a few keyboard jockeys 6-7 years ago claiming they would outrun me with that other head. 😂

Paul,
This would have been 4 or 5 years ago. They were both running "Ultra Street" which was 1/8. These are a snippet from the rules from a few years ago. I also believe Ray Cox may have run this class at sometime. The last time I saw John Snyder's car it was N/A with a beautiful billet manifold by John Marcella. Stan – Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Mopar N/A 632 – (2750) (Any single carb / TB intake permitted) – Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Mopar Nitrous 588 – (3075) (Mopar conventional B 1 head accepted) – Maximum CID for Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Mopar Nitrous combinations is 588 inches. I had forgotten about your cv-juans "as a dig at cv-1’s since mine blow them out of the water. Tom V.

East Coast is where you will find most of the fastest Pontiacs. Texas has the baddest iron head street Pontiacs.
