I have used JB weld and it worked like a charm. Sanded the entire wheel and painted it.

I used a real light brown /tan Krylon spray paint. Took 60 grit paper and made deep marks in the wheel and then used darker wood stain to wipe over and blend into the sand marks to simulate wood grain. Looked awesome. Don’t clear coat. I didn’t want it to be shiney. Turned out really well after polishing the wheel spokes with 00 steel wool.

Glad to help. It took several days to complete these steps but worth it. My wheel has lasted for years.
