Yes, I hope the seller is happy with that. The Lucerne Blue 1970 Ram Air IV 4-speed car went for 150K which I thought was "kind of" a steal.

It wasn’t a steel. No one in the room was bidding on it. It’s got issues. Look at the underneath pictures of it and you’ll figure it out. I think without the issues and a better restoration it would’ve gone higher than the green car or at least It should have

Didn't see where underneath pictures were supplied. They sure aren't on the auction site.

Not that many bidders in the room- plenty of seats left. Now, I don’t know how many people each bidder was working for....

Nope
Not even 73 SD 4spd record
But very long Green no doubt.

the Blue 70 IV 4spd is a new modern day record LOW for a restored IV 4spd.

Or it could be a new trend. Lot’s of old farts with cool car collections getting their estates in order. We will see more of this. Tons of people saying these prices were a “steal”, but this was a well advertised auction and none of the crowd crowing about what low prices this stuff sold at were present and bidding because they are arm chair quarterbacks and old farts themselves. Like T-Rex arms when the check comes at a big meal.

I'd be interested in seeing the records for both if you can point to them

Thanks

I agree , to degree , about trends coming.
And the old farts (and soon to be old farts) with collections.

Can't say how many years it will be , but these type cars will be returning back to the boulevards again. So long as some guilty pleasures are still allowed.

Can guarantee whoever bought the 70 Blue IV TA and 70 Gold IV Judge are crowing today. Maybe not yesterday in the midst of the tournament, but today.

The guys who have paid nearly double in the past - no crowing.

Are you saying this was a new low for a BLUE RAIV TA? Because there was a White 4-spd RAIV that sold at auction (Indy IIRC) for $93K not all that long ago.

No , i really meant any color.

Wasn't the Indy auction car the one with a lot of questionable attributes ?
Formerly Automatic , formerly wasted body-rivet restoration , and etc ?

Terrible restoration yes. But that is being corrected. Hopefully it will be done next year.

This 1970 RAIV car sold for 250 a few years ago, looks like more this time. https://www.cars-on-line.com/gen3-ca.../posting/89278
