OK, but I do not see any reference to a trans in the first post as you said.

I ordered a an SS700 back in July. They promised mid October. I have received everything I ordered including the clutch. But, not the trans. I spoke to them today, they mentioned they have sent some orders and I am in the next round of orders.
They hired a new guy named John, he seems very cool and so far has done everything he said he would do. When the end of october rolled around I told them I couldn't wait cause I wanted to make the Turkey Run in Daytona. So I said, "screw it" send me a TKO600. They did, but the catch is no cross member and no date since they are on back order. Well, the Turkey Run is around the corner. So, I called them and told them with no crossmember I might as well wait for the 700. They (John) agreed. I sent the 600 back. The crossmember will be at my house tomorrow by EOD (I have the tracking #).
Bottom line no trans.
I wanted the 700 because of the new case design, plus the extra 100lbs. of torque capability. I'd rather wait at this point.
I will keep everyone interested posted.
Frank

71 TA, I'm working toward a pro touring kinda flavor. The car is fully loaded, pwr everything, tilt, I even installed factory cruise. I put a lot miles on this car. I take 200 mile trips about every third week end. I just acquired rear wheel disc set up from a 99 blazer(actually 2, one side RWD,one side 4WD). I will install that while I put in the trans.

Well Cap'n, I'll certainly tell you guys how it turns out. Lol
I would never give my business to company with that kind of reputation, however I like the 700 and nobody else markets anything like that. Not even remotely. Everything else is just a modified TKO. The third gear issue is because the 600 is a truck tranny. It was never designed for performance at the drawing board level. Not saying the 700 will be any better, but I like the beefy, rounded case.

well I hope they treat you right and everything goes smoothly from here on out.

I had been thinking of getting one of their T56 kits, then I googled "keisler t56" and a TON of forum posts complaining about their customer service and deceptive practices popped up.

Actually their customer service is excellent. It's getting them to do what they're supposed to that's the problem. The guys you talk to on the phone are great guys, the issue is Shafi doesn't give them what they need to satisfy people. They are trying to please people with no back up. The root of the problem is Shafi. He puts customer service in the face of the public and they simply have no control. Crisis management. He goes and announces all this stuff he's doing not realizing once he lets the genie out of the bottle he simply can't deliver. It's a money thing! Before he invests he tests the market. Except instead of seeing if there is any interest, he announces availability. Train wreck!

Had to laugh when I read this back when first posted. Lying is not good customer service. From what I have heard about Keisler is they tell you what you want to here.

It is typical of a sales driven company, over promise.

I read the info on that trans it appears to be a very good design. They spent 20k alone on the torque capacity testing. Says it can high rpm shifts with ease.

I did receive the crossmember today. Now, I have everything except the trans itself.

I tried to circumvent them but I really like the design of the 700. I don't think legend will sell direct. If they did these trans would be out already. I can certainly put a kit together myself, I don't need kiesler for that. If it were not for the new design I would have just gone to summit or even American Powertrain. I have never liked paying someone for something I can do myself. When the 700 wasn't ready I asked them to send me a 600 and they did! I had the 600 in my garage within the promised time. I chose to send it back because I really wanted the new design. With the exception of delays they have been great to work with. That doesn't make everything ok. It still sucks. But at least they are nice about it. In an effort to please me they upgraded my driveshaft to 1350 ujoints at no extra charge. They're at least trying. I was in retail for a lot of years, sometimes, sometimes an apology goes a long way! They knew from the beginning I wanted my trans by the Turkey Run, they didn't make that deadline. If i had kept the 600 i would everything and they would missed the original deadline by 30 days and was because the crossmember was back ordered. At least they put back in my original spot in the que. They told they already started send out 700's. If that's true, maybe just maybe Christmas. Lol
