Which Gaskets For Strelka Vavle Covers?
I got my valve covers the other day and went to put them on my engine. The cork style gaskets are way to big to work properly. I had a used set of rubber gaskets that looked like they might fit but I didn't want to spend hours cleaning them off. Which gaskets are other people using with the Strelka valve covers?

I have cork on mine, about 1/4" thick maybe 3/8". No problems, form-a-gasket on the valve covers, put gaskets on, place valve covers on table gasket side down so the weight of the covers press the gasket on evenly, let sit over night, reday to put on the next day. (also put bolts in place while the gaskets were setting overnight so the holes with the covers and the gasket stay lined up) Mark

I should explain about my cork gaskets. They are brand new and for a Pontiac motor but when I lay them on the base of the Strelka covers, they are physically too large. The rubber gaskets looked like they would fit better.

Jackmonkey,
Sorry that is as much as I know about the gaskets I have. My covers and gaskets came from Jack Gaydosh, not sure where he picked them up but just assumed that these corks were all the same. I can tell you that when I used to purchase cork gaskets (mr. gasket) for my chrome valve covers, I would always have to trim them down, they never fit between the rails. The radii were way out of shape. I wish I knew where he got these corks from, they are a perfect fit to the covers. Maybe give Strelka a call and ask them what gaskets to use. Looks like Spotts Performance carries them, 5/16" cork and 3/16" cork: http://www.spottsperformance.com/Gaskets2.htm they are a little more than have way down the page. Mark

LOL, I got mine from Jack also. Although I got the gaskets first and then had to wait 2 months for the covers to arrive.

Did Jack give you the gaskets, or did you purchase the gaskets from somewhere else?
I got everything from Jack at one time. Yes it took a little bit to get them but I think they are great, definitely worth the wait. Mark

I got the gaskets from Jack when I picked up my motor. Probably about 5 months ago. They were an extra set since my Moroso covers already had the rubber gaskets RTV'd to them. I just picked up my valve covers about 3 weeks ago. mchell I had to wait 2 months to get my valve covers. I had some engraving done on them but I don't know what the hold up was from Strekla. I really like them though. |

mchell,
Seems, in another thread, he has/had some personal issues so orders seemed to be held up. Also he does this part time so he can get backed up pretty quick. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...hlight=strelka Mark

I will not get into what happened with the delivery of my valve covers but I will say that I like them. Very good quality and they look great on top of those Edelbrock heads and T2.
