'64 GTO Grille Emblem
I'm a new owner of a '64 GTO. I have the "G_T_O" grille emblem... unattached. The previous owner bought one and never installed it. (and included it in the sale) I've been to my share of car shows but never had the need to check how these were actually attached. The emblem just has three unthreaded pins on the back. I don't know if the emblem came with clips when the previous owner bought it... and they were lost along the way. Maybe I just need to go down to the local body shop and ask for some general/all purpose clips. If anyone has had experience buying and installing this most important emblem or knows how theirs is currently attached, please let me know. - Thanks.

As I recall there is a bar behind it that goes over the studs and then the nuts hold the bar on. I haven't looked at it in a very long time.

I believe you may find these same clips also on the grill piece that says pontiac

Yep, that makes more sense than what I was thinking.

Follow Up
I just wanted to follow up and close this thread. Turns out that there are these standard threading nuts that are meant for these kind of "knockoff" emblems. A local mechanic provided me with a set. They twist on and gouge their way onto the soft plastic pins. Now it looks fine from the outside... complete hack/point loser on the inside. Nothing like the true nut/bolt that the original probably had. Thanks for all your feedback, and the pic from "3 Deuce 64"
