1967 Tempest Wagon w/factory OHC 6 4BBL
Made a trip to Fredericksburg, VA yesterday to pick up a new toy. It is a 67 Tempest Wagon with a factory installed OHC 6 4BBL engine. Although it was not called a "Sprint" option, this engine was offered in 67 and was installed in only 62 Tempest Custom wagons. 1 of 47 with the 2 speed automatic trans. The plan is to fix up some minor things as I enjoy/drive the car.

That's a beautiful car! I love these wagons. I had one lined up to buy but I thought it'd be a better idea to finish my goat first plus my girlfriend didn't approve lol but if I would've brought it home she would've gotten over it.

I had no idea they ever put a 4bbl on an OHC 6. I thought they were all 2bbl. Very cool car! Post some pics of the whole car will you? Been a while since I've seen one. Love the wheels too

SB,
Very cool, I hope you will/can share some of that info; This is IMO a truly unique OHC 6 Pontiac. Paul, Here is some useless info; to broaden your newly acquired OHC knowledge The '66 SPRINT OHC 6 was the first to use the new Quadrajet 4BC carb, GTO's didn't get them until '67

SB,
I had no idea it was for sale. Very cool wagon, I recall back when he picked it up. Very cool OHC HO engine option. For those not aware as stated this is NOT a SPRINT but an optional engine package. Does it come with any PHS info; to share? Do you mind me asking how much you paid. Inquiring minds want to know Very Cool indeed!

Goatwgn, if that's yours, you have to get it up to the PY show this year. If not... steal it and get it to the show. LOL I wanna see you parked next to me in the Mod group.

Its mine.LOL. And Thanks for the compliment. Has been for 32 years. Was my stepdads before that. Every year I want to go to that show and it seems like sonmething always comes up. Will try and make it again this year. I used to go to the one at VA Motorsport park near Petersburg but they stopped doing that one. Just a couple of days ago (New years day in fact) I took everything apart to get the engine ready to come out so I can change my camshaft to something a little more streetable in my 455. Going to do some underhood detailing while I have it out. Changing out torque convertor as well. Getting my new cam broke in on a test stand. Should have it all back together at the end of Jan/ beginning of Feb.

Well Jeff, It was not advertised. I arranged the sale from Nathe to Tyrone and was present when Nathe bought it in Dayton. I asked Tyrone if he ever wanted to sell it, to call me. Well I got the call about 3 weeks ago.
Thanks all for the compliments on the wagon. It is in fairly nice, original paint, driver condition. I like the patina! The car needs the master cylinder, an oil change, cleaned and it is ready to drive. Future plan is to fix up some of the interior panels, valve seals and possibly a paint job/minor body work. I have a bunch of documentation including the original window sticker and invoice. I paid $8000. |

Ahhhh, Paul's like me at times..... too poor to pay attention. You are not alone in this Paul. But with me these days it's more of an advanced case of CRS due to old age.
