(SD)455 Engine and Richmond ‘4+1’ 5-Speed
Marty Palbykin built (complete & running) 455 Engine (’71 YC 455 block) with SD455 forged rods/TRW forged pistons (+.030) w/SD455 Heads (F143 dates), SD455 exhaust manifolds (factory), SD455 auto Q-jet (7044270 w/ 2473 date & SF pick code) on Warrior (Doug Nash design) aluminum intake with electric choke, Performance Distributor HEI, with custom SD455 aluminum valve covers and wire looms. Has a 1” deepened factory oil pan (8 quarts?). Comes with chromed alternator, some brackets, and chrome valley pan. Richmond ‘4+1’ 5-speed overdrive (0.77 fifth) trans with CenterForce Dual Friction clutch and Hurst shifter that shifts beautifully, trans refreshed in 2014. Was built for comfortable cruising with abundant power on tap. Cam is not known but is rather docile (H-O Racing HC-01 is our guess to work with the 8.5 compression – Whistled 8.2 cold) and the engine may have 3000 miles total at the most over the past 25 years since it was built. The heads have 7/16 rocker studs with poly-locks and CC roller tip RR’s, and most likely the original factory valves and springs. The engine is currently in a 28k mile ’78 TA that the previous owner rarely drove and only in nice weather. The engine runs beautifully, strong, no smoke and quiet valve train. $12,500 Firm. Pick up only in Mid-Michigan. PM or email (preferred) Dennis at dennis.jensen@c2ae.com for more info.

Thanks Joe! It's not quite a Marty P. dual turbo race motor, but he was Mike's good friend and helped him build it...directed the build kind of like a project manager for Mike. We saw the intake ports were untouched stock when Dan swapped the Warrior intake for a'72 HO manifold (you can still see the casting lines in the ports). The motor will be sold as it shows in the pictures. Yeah, I'm selling it at a very fair price I realize for all the SD455 pieces on it, but it needs a new home.
