57 2 dr. Safari Wagon value
Have a chance to get a 57 Safari 2 dr Wagon. May have Starchief trim, will verify from my pics tonight. Car has been sitting in a barn for 10 or so years and is a complete southern car. It does need floor work, but the rest of the body looks pretty decent. All chrome is there and in great shape, as is all glass. Underhood looks to be complete and all original.
Will need a full restore, but again, is all there and a really decent starting point for a project. Can I get some opinions of what this car may be worth as it sits and restored? (I can't get any pics or a better look right now, but hope to within a matter of days.) Thanks in advance!

4500.00 minimum if the chrome's nice and the glass is good.
curved glass is like gold and the chrome's not far behind. mike

Are you talking about a Custom Safari or just the regular two door wagon Safari? There's a big difference in value. Bill Morgan here on the boards is selling one of the regular ones for $2800. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=556668

What is up with all of the 57 2 dr Chieftain Safaris being found lately? Here are a few photos of mine which is under construction at the moment.
The glass in these cars is the same as a Chevy wagon. At least that is what I have read. I hope it is true because I am planning on ordering new glass very soon. |

Here, from vmrintl.com, are the book values on the Chieftain two-door Safari wagons. I priced mine under the #5 assessment because I'm at least a thousand miles from 98% of my potential buyers.
